Review&Swatches: Revlon Lip Butter

Hello beauty blabbers!
Today I've got a review of one of my favorite new lip products. Okay, maybe not brand new to most of you but pretty new to me. These are the Revlon Lip Butters! I have them in 2 colors "Cotton Candy" and "Strawberry Shortcake"
To start off, I do not like wearing lipstick at all. I'm way more of a lip balm or lip gloss type of person but I had seen so many good reviews about these so I thought I would give them a shot!
The lip butter on the left is strawberry shortcake and the lip butter on the right is cotton candy.

The packaging on these is pretty cute with the quilted design on the cap. They have the names on the bottom just like any other lip product would but what I really liked about these were that the top of the caps are see through so you can actually see what the color looks like in the tube without opening it! This is excellent for when you're checking them out at the drugstore! They open and twist just like a typical lipstick would but when you put them on they are extremely moisturizing and pretty glossy, a lot more glossy than I thought they were going to be, which is perfect for me!
Anyway, you twist it up and this is what you get!
This is strawberry shortcake right out of the tube. Now I've had mine for a couple months now so it is loved, which explains the messy looking tube. You get a decent amount of product right off the bat but not as much as I had hoped for. I've tried looking online at the actual amount in grams that you get but I can't find it anywhere.
This is what cotton candy looks like right out of the tube! From these pictures you can tell that strawberry shortcake is a bit brighter than cotton candy in the tube and it definitely is. I like to wear cotton candy on an every day basis and wear strawberry shortcake for more of a going out color or when I start to get a tan. Now here are some swatches for you guys!
The swatch on the left side of my hand is cotton candy and the right is strawberry shortcake. As you can see, cotton candy is definitely more of an every day lip and strawberry shortcake is brighter. You can also see in this photo that they are definitely glossy. Cotton candy has a little bit of gold shimmer in it while strawberry shortcake doesn't have any shimmer in it.

The only bad thing I have to say about these lip butters is that since they are more of a glossy balm that they won't last as long as a lipstick would. Which is fine with me but if you're looking for something that you can apply just a couple times a day and still have some color this isn't for you. I know I have to apply this more than a couple times a day because it wears off.

Until Next time,
Jen the beauty blabber
