Okay, so I haven't used a liquid foundation for the last 6 or 7 years. I've used a mineral foundation for the last 6 or 7 years because I had extremely oily skin and liquid foundations broke me out so bad. Anyway, since I've grown up a bit my skin has grown as well and isn't so oily anymore. So lately I've been looking for a little more full coverage foundation. I have seen sooo many reviews on both high end and drugstore liquid foundations and finally found one I think I'm going to stick with, Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Foundation.
It comes in a cool glass container and you get .8 fluid oz. in this lovely thing. Now when you open it up there is a plastic cover on the top of the container to keep any spillage from happening. Then you'll take the plastic cover off of it and you'll have this "melted milkshake" (as Amarixe herself called it) looking foundation.
When you put your fingers to this foundation it actually has a really weird feeling because it's not actually liquid, it's whipped, but not like the mousse foundations you've seen from other brands. It almost feels like jello on top. What I usually do to apply this foundation is take a q-tip, dip it in and put it on the back of my clean hand. Then I use a beauty sponge like you see above to apply it to my face. I've used a brush and just my fingers to apply it and I felt that the sponge did the best job.
The picture on the left above is my hand before apply the foundation, the picture on the left is the foundation on the sponge about to apply.
Both pictures above are after the foundation was applied to my hand. The picture on the left was right after I applied the foundation, you can tell because of the dewy finish. The picture on the right is about 5 minutes after applying the foundation, you can tell because it's a matte finish foundation. I really like the wear I get with this foundation. I have oily skin so I was afraid any liquid or whipped foundation would just melt right off but this one claims to have 24 hour wear (why would anyone want to wear their makeup for 24 hours I don't know) but I wore this through a crazy work day today of 8 hours and it was still just as it was when I applied it. It is buildable coverage which I like because even after I build it a little bit it doesn't look cakey and doesn't settle into the fine lines on my face. This foundation also blends really well into my skin, I was worried when I bought it ($11.99 at Target by the way) that the foundation would be too dark for my skin tone but it blended so well into my skin that it matched perfectly!
I hope you guys enjoyed this review and let me know what you want to see in the future!
As always,
