Review and Swatches: ELF single eyeshadows
Hey there beauty blabbers!
I'm back again today with what I was originally going to post last time but was too excited about the Maybelline color tattoos. Anyway, today I thought I'd review the ELF single eyeshadows. I have 4 shades of the 15 that are currently on their website. For those who don't know what ELF is, it stands for eyes, lips, face. It is extremely affordable make up and also for all ages. I know I was skeptical at first because of the prices that it would be geared towards a younger crowd but it's for all ages. I think the most expensive items on their website are the eyeshadow palettes or maybe some brush sets. The cheapest items on their website are the items in the "essentials" line, which are $1. They have recently added some new products to their essentials line that are $2 though so I'm not sure if eventually it will become the new price point. You can shop ELF on their website here or I have seen it at many Targets all over as well.
Now onto the good stuff, as I said before I have 4 shades of these lovely shadows.
As you can see the packaging on these shadows is very similar to the NARS packaging on their products. These eyeshadows though are extremely affordable at a price point of $3. The amount of product you get is pretty decent at 0.097oz and each shadow has a little window on the front so you can see the color as well as a little mirror on the inside.
There are 2 swatches on my hand of each shadow. The swatch on the left doesn't have a primer behind it and the swatch on the right of my hand does have a primer behind it.
Raspberry truffle is the darkest of the 4 that I have and you can't tell from the flash in my photos but in person this color looks amazing in the package, it's almost like a dark maroon shimmery color and you barely need to swipe your finger in it to get some product!
Saddle is a shimmery brown color which shows up a lot lighter on my hand than it actually is in the package.
Sunset was a shade I was so excited to buy because on the ELF website it looked pink to me. Well, I opened it up and it turned out to be a pinky orange gold color. It's a very unique shade because it looks pinky orange in the package and then swatched it just looks orangey gold to me.
Wild wheat has to be the most disappointing shade that I purchased because from what you can see in the picture, it doesn't show up on my skin very well. In the picture on the left of wild wheat in its package it looks like a matte khaki color but it actually has a little shimmer in it.
I have worn the first 3 shades of these shadows (because wild wheat didn't have any color) and I would say these are great for their price point of $3. Raspberry truffle seemed really powdery and chalky when I swatched it but very pigmented. The other 3 seemed like a regular eyeshadow to me. I always wear a primer with these because it gives them something to stick to so they will last throughout the day and so far I haven't had any problems with them. Overall, these are great shadows for the price and especially someone who is just beginning to get into makeup!
Until next time,

Review and Swatches: Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoo
Hey there fellow beauty blabbers!
I know I said I'd review a few ELF (eyes, lips, face) products for you on my first post but I just got side tracked with how great this product is so I had to share with you!
As you can tell from the title of this post I have recently discovered these Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoos! I currently have 3 different shades and I am in love with them.

As you can tell from the title of this post I have recently discovered these Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoos! I currently have 3 different shades and I am in love with them.
Bottom picture(left to right): too cool, bad to the bronze, and tough as taupe.
The packaging is extremely nice for a drugstore brand. They come in little glass jars somewhat similar to a MAC paint pot from what I'm told. You also get a pretty good amount of product in each jar, .14oz. Each of the shades I have are extremely creamy and pigmented so swiping your finger in it once and putting it on your lid is all you need. The jar will last you a while! Now onto the swatches!
This first picture was taken with a flash. (too cool, tough as taupe, bad to the bronze)
This picture was taken without the flash just to show you the different lighting (too cool, tough as taupe, bad to the bronze)
All 3 of these shades are definitely wearable in my opinion. I like to use the shade "too cool" as a base for a powder eye shadow to make the color pop. The shade tough as taupe is a great neutral everyday shadow and the bad to the bronze is also a great everyday shadow. I have tried all 3 of these out with a primer and with out a primer on my lids. Most cream eye shadows need a primed lid so they don't crease. I was a little afraid at first so I slapped on a primer and gave it a shot. The next day I didn't use a primer and I could not tell the difference between the two days so they are on your lid to stay! Which brings me to my next point, how long do they actually last?
Well, I am a college student and that means most of the day I'm in class. I wore "bad to the bronze" today to class from 8:30am until about 2:30pm and I didn't have a single smudge. I washed my face to go to bed tonight and it came off with make up removing wipes, even the little bits of shimmer in "bad to the bronze" which all shimmer can be a pain in the butt to get off, I had no problems.
So far, I don't have anything bad to say about any of these shades. I'm more of a neutral girl so I went for these shades instead of the crazy colored ones they had on the shelf. I hope Maybelline continues to add colors to this line! I would love to see a champagne type shade soon!
Until next time,
